When we launched Action Builder in 2019, our goal was simple but ambitious: create a tool built by organizers, for organizers, that would meet the realities of organizing on the ground while growing with the needs of campaigns and movements.
Since then, Action Builder has become a go-to tool for organizers at the AFL-CIO, Amazon Labor Union, People’s Action, Movement Voter Project, and beyond — supporting deep, one-to-one organizing, tracking engagement over time, mapping relationships, and building leadership from the ground up. Today, we’re excited to introduce Action Builder’s refreshed design — developed hand-in-hand with organizers and built to make your everyday organizing even more effective.
A Design Refresh Rooted in Organizing
While it looks amazing, this new design isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s about accessibility, clarity, and helping organizers move faster and more intentionally through their work. Whether you’re knocking doors, following up with contacts, or mapping your organizing network, the new Action Builder design makes it easier to see what matters and act on it.

The refresh improves workflows for organizers in the field:
- A cleaner, more consistent look: Refreshed colors, fonts, and layout details make Action Builder easier to use and navigate
- Mobile-first enhancements: Larger action buttons make it easier to follow up with contacts on the go. A more prominent “Filter Results” button helps you quickly find the right people at the right moment.
- Desktop updates: Key topline information is now visible across all tabs in a contact’s profile, so you always have what you need — without having to click around.
- Accessibility: Improvements across the tool bring Action Builder more in line with accessibility best practices.
